Ecodetection

Our eco-detector dogs are capable of finding living or dead flora or fauna, parts of them, hair, feces, etc. They can help in conservation programs , early detection of invasive species , environmental impact studies , or preventively to stop future plagues.

Ecodetection teams consist of a certified canine handler and a working dog specialized in detecting and locating one or more odorous substances of biological origin. Once these substances are located, a wide variety of genetic, physiological, and pathological indicators of the surrounding flora and fauna can be extracted.
These indicators provide valuable information on species abundance, geographic distribution, resource use, health and pathology, all in relation to the environmental pressure to which different species are subjected.

The extraordinary olfactory capabilities of dogs, combined with proper training, allow us to gather more and better field data quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively. Our dogs can:

- Detect plants, animals and feces.

-Find targets up to 40 times faster than with other methods.

- To provide results on-site and with near-perfect accuracy.

Bed Bug Detection

At BioSniff we develop and offer support for environmental impact studies through the use of ecodetector dogs, an effective and complementary tool for locating fauna, biological remains and traces in areas affected by infrastructure such as power lines , wind farms or other energy facilities.

  • Detection of dead fauna (birds, bats).

  • Location of indirect traces (feathers, excrement, remains).

  • Evaluation of passage, feeding or reproduction areas.

  • Support for pre-installation, follow-up and post-installation studies.

The use of dogs offers us:

  • Greater efficiency and speed compared to visual methods.

  • Improved detectability in complex terrain.

  • Minimally invasive method compatible with scientific protocols.

Who is it aimed at? Environmental consultants, energy companies, public administrations, and research and conservation projects.

The services are adapted to the sampling protocols established in each project and can be integrated as a complement to traditional environmental monitoring methods.

Bed Bug Detection

We have teams that are trained and have a lot of experience in detecting bedbugs, whether it is to carry out searches in hotels, apartments, flats or any other type of accommodation. These tasks can be carried out both to detect the presence of these parasites, or as a preventive measure to avoid future infections and pests.

Field studies and collection of data and samples

Dogs are able to locate samples of different species simultaneously in closed spaces, large open areas and rugged terrain sometimes inaccessible to humans, being more effective compared to traditional search methods.
No other method can collect such a large amount of reliable information in such a short space of time, making this approach incredibly valuable for planning environmental control and conservation. Our team is rigorous, disciplined and approachable.

Please feel free to contact us for more information or to arrange an interview.

Creation of new ecodetector binomials

Although the use of this detection method for conservation is not widespread in our country, in other countries it is a basic tool in wildlife management and control functions, as well as in areas related to public health.

In the above services, our dogs trained for specific smells together with their handlers form the working team, but we can also form new work teams for future projects.
